Miles' Birthday Party at the Pumpkin Patch

Masey's and Sadie's friend Miles had his 4th birthday at the Pumpkin Patch. There were pumpkins, animals, a swingset, pedal go-carts, and lots to do.

A Fall Day at the Beach

We are trying to squeeze in as much outside and beach time before the snow starts to fall!

Masey got to experience a monarch caterpillar make it's transformation into a butterfly. Unfortunately, "Lucky" had a problem with his wing and possibly his whole right side. Masey brought him up to the attic to see if he could fly, but as we thought, he could not. Lucky lived with us in an aquarium where we fed him and took care of him until he died. Masey's remark when we found he had died was, "not so "lucky"". I then told her that he got to be a butterfly for a short time but at least he made it to his destination. We had tied up his cocoon with dental floss and helped him through his transition. If we had not done that, he would have died before he ever got the chance to be a butterfly. Masey's comment after that was..."Wow, I guess he was lucky!" Not sure if we will do it again next year:)

A Weekend in Vermont

Masey decided that she wanted to go to Arlington for her birthday "party". She wanted to spend the "whole" day with her cousin, Cassidy. So, we headed up on Thursday after work and stayed until Sunday. We both had a great weekend!

As a surprise, Ricky booked "Dux:The Balloon Man" to spend a couple of hours with Masey and the neighborhood kids. Masey LOVED it...and sure loves her Ricky!

Masey's birthday fell on a Thursday this year. So, she decided to bring cupcakes to school, have Oma and Papa for a visit, and some icecream cake with whatever neighborhood kids were kicking around in the evening.

Masey started PreK at Heartworks this month. She loves it and asks daily, "do I go to school tomorrow?" She currently goes two mornings a week and I am considering adding more time after the holidays.
